Day 10 – Die Empty, Giving It Your All.

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

What would you like to achieve in life before you die?

What would you do if you knew that you would never fail?

Do you feel that you have something more to give?

“We need to fall in love with the process, not just the end product of our work.”

Todd Henry

day 10

We’re starting off with a thought today. Think about this: The grave is one of the wealthiest places on the planet. Why? Because in graveyards lie millions of unused dreams and potential. Today’s tool is Die Empty, Giving It Your All. We will be exploring how to capitalize and make the most out of life. We all have desires, goals, places we would like to go, things that we want to do, but for different reasons we often do not get around to it. Instead we:

Put it off until tomorrow

Wait for the ‘right’ time

Wait for a better job,

Wait for the kids to grow up,

Don’t believe that we can do it so we put it off

We focus on ‘what if I fail’ rather then ‘what if I win’

This activity is based on the book Die Empty Unleash Your Best Work Every Day written by Todd Henry. Todd said,

“I want to know that if I lay my head down tonight and don’t wake up tomorrow, I have emptied myself of whatever creativity is lingering inside, with minimal regrets about how I spent my focus, time, and energy”.

What Does Die Empty Mean?

  1. Don’t put off things until tomorrow because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

  2. You are unique and have something to offer to the world.

  3. Comfort can be an enemy of success.

  4. Don’t be a mirror passively reflecting the values and options of others, stand up for what you believe in.

  5. Paying attention to your daily progress, making every day count.

Time To Take Action

On a piece of paper write down the following:

Whilst I am still living, I will…

While I can, I will….

Or

Before its too late, I will……

And complete the sentences. Empty your mind of all the things, places and achievements you want:

To make

Do &

Have

Write them all down; bring them to the forefront of our mind.

This is your opportunity to focus your attention on your goals, dreams, wants and needs that you have put off until tomorrow, start making everyday a day of progress, taking steps towards your goals.
