Negative chatter affects us all in some way or another. Everything we do starts within the mind; our goals, our fears, our doubts and all our beliefs & limitations, start with the mind. The mind is a powerful tool, as Author James Allen said “As he thinks, so he is; as he continues to think, so he remains.” Your thinking controls your behaviour.

Today’s tool is “Self – Affirmations”

If you are what you think, ask yourself these two questions:

  1. What do you think about everyday?

  2. Do you like the results of your thoughts? (Great news if you don’t, you can change it)

What is Affirmation?

Self-Affirmations are positive statements that an individual says out loud on a regular basis, to raise the level of “feel-good” hormones in your brain.

We can override negative messages that we tell ourselves through the use of Self-Affirmation. You may be thinking: Can this really work? Years of research has shown that what and how you think greatly impacts how you behave, so by replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, over time your thoughts and affirmations begin to change. By repeating the same positive self-affirmations over and over, we can reprogram our subconscious minds with positive messages that can remove or override negative ones.

Time To Take Action

Step 1 – Write down five positive affirmations that you can say every morning (or as often as you chose).

Here Are A Few Example Of Affirmations To Help

  2. I am choosing to have a healthy life.

  3. I will achieve my goals.

  4. I am good enough, just the way I am.

  5. Amazing opportunities exist for me in every aspect of my life.

  6. I appreciate everything I have. I live in joy.

You can use post it notes to write down your affirmation (put your affirmations somewhere you can see them everyday.
