Day 16 – The Power Of  A Positive You

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

Is your mind growing flowers or is it over grown with weeds?

What do you feed your mind on a daily basis?

As you think, so are you?

“A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.”

James Allen

day 16

Today’s Tool is “Power Thoughts“.

This tool focuses on developing thoughts through powerful sayings, to meditate on daily. If you have stinking thinking then this tool is for you. Discover the power of a positive you; negative thinking brings things we do not desire into our lives. When your attention is totally focused on the very thing you don’t’ want, you actually bring it into existence through your thoughts.

How do I become successful?

How do I make my dreams become my reality?

It all starts with you. Jim Rohn once said  “Success is something you attract by the person you become”. Become a person who looks for the positive in every situation. Power thoughts is about seeing the good in situations. Developing a mind that is positive rather than negative. In order to be different, you have to think differently. Develop a mind-set that turns all your problems into opportunities; aim to see the good in every situation.

When you set your mind to look for the good or opportunity in every situation, you will develop a positive attitude towards life.

An organization once offered a bounty of five thousand dollars apiece for wolves that were captured alive. Enticed by the idea of such money, Sam and Jed eagerly set out through the forests and into the mountains, in search of the animals that could secure their fortune. They fell asleep under the stars one night, exhausted after days of enthusiastic hunting. Sam awoke in the middle of the night and saw about fifty wolves surrounding him and Jed—hungry wolves, baring their teeth, with their eyes glistening at the thought of easy human prey. Realizing what was going on, Sam nudged his friend and said eagerly, “Jed, wake up!

What do you think he said?

What was he thinking?

What would you be thinking?

“We’re rich!” he said.

A positive attitude enables you to make the best of every situation, and that gives you power over your circumstances instead of allowing your circumstances to have power over you. This was certainly true for Sam. While most people would be terrified when surrounded by a wolf pack, Sam saw the opportunity he’d been waiting for. He didn’t have to go and find the wolves, they came to him.

Time To Take Action

Five Rules to becoming a positive you. Throughout your day when you are faced with challenges, think about these rules, the aim is to make them a part of your everyday life.

#SAY “I have the ability to take control over situations…  Situations do not have control over me”.

Rule #1: Maintain the right attitude when the going gets rough. – Try to see the best in all situations.

Rule #2: Realize that rough times won’t last forever. – What you are going through will not last forever, after the rain comes the sunshine.

Rule #3: Don’t make major decisions during a storm. – When going through a hard time, when full of emotion, don’t make decisions, as you’re likely to be acting on your emotions. Make your emotion subside before making a decision.

Rule #4: Stay in touch with the “Control Tower.” – The control tower at the airport can see everything and is there to guide the aircraft, giving directions, updates and important information. Who are you connected to? A friend, family member, God or a partner.  Find your sources of connection and guidance and allow it to support and guide you along the way.

Rule #5: Try to keep things in perspective – Don’t see things worse than they are but equally don’t down play a situation or overlook it. See the situation for what it is.
